MLE: Routine Monitoring

Maria L 2022: information below may be out of date, please refer to the MLE SharePoint for the latest information.

What the standard is (for Ethiopia, India, and Nepal):

  • Pre-implementation data is collected at each site between 15-30 days prior to intervention and post-implementation data is collected 15-30 days after intervention (see other section).
  • Thereafter, all sites receive routine monitoring visits twice per school year on a rolling basis. All active-operational sites will receive data collection visits twice per school year for at least five years (including the first year of the intervention). We believe that five years is an appropriate timeline to assess program sustainability as well as the necessary amount of time to assess the efficacy of Splash’s interventions over the medium-long term.
  • The Splash MLE team is responsible for establishing and managing data collection timelines and processes.
  • Any exceptions to these standards must be approved by Splash's Global MLE Manager.
